Our Story

HI, I’m Justin Pisarra, the owner of Pink Flamingo Painting. I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a painter—but life had other plans. I was raised in the Bethesda–Chevy Chase area, went to St. John’s College High School in D.C, fresh out of college, I fell into the craft by chance when I started working at Prestige Painting—a Silver Spring institution since 1985. I loved it so much that I went from employee to owner, rebranding it to Service First Painting. Soon, my dad joined the crew, and together we launched Inside Out Painting, growing it into a family-run operation that served Maryland homeowners for 15 years.

My future wife, Laura, brought her eye for color, creativity, and client experience. Over time, siblings joined us too—making it a true family business built on trust, hard work, and pride in everything we did. Our base was in Silver Spring, and eventually we moved to Howard County, bringing our craft northward.

Then the pandemic hit. We did everything we could, but when the world changed around us, Inside Out Painting had to close it doors. But painting— painting—never left me. I missed the process, the transformation, the satisfaction of a space refreshed and cared for.

That longing turned into action. So, I came back. And this time, I brought something new with me: Pink Flamingo Painting—something loose, fun, and un-stuffy. I wanted a name that makes people smile before we ever pick up a brush. But, It’s not just a fresh name—it’s a reflection of our attitude. We’re approachable, personable, and proud of our work. We believe in making home improvements feel exciting, not stressful. We want you to actually enjoy the process, not just survive it!
