Laura is absolutely going to hate that I used this photo.
Which is exactly why it made the website.

Hi, I’m Justin Pisarra, and I run Pink Flamingo Painting.
Funny enough, I never set out to be a painter. I kind of backed into it.
I grew up around Bethesda–Chevy Chase and went to St. John’s in D.C. After college, I landed at Prestige Painting in Silver Spring (they’d been around forever), and what started as “just a job” turned into something I genuinely loved.
I liked the work. I liked the pace. I liked that you could walk into a space, do the job right, and completely change how it felt.
Over time, I went from crew member to owner and rebranded the company as Service First Painting.
Later, my dad joined me and we started Inside Out Painting. That grew into a real family business over the next 15 years, serving homeowners across Maryland. Laura (my wife) brought an incredible eye for color and design, and she has always been amazing with clients. A few of my siblings got involved too, and before long it really became a full family operation.
We started in Silver Spring and eventually made our way up into Howard County.
Then the pandemic hit.
Like a lot of small businesses, we fought to keep it going. We did everything we could. But the world changed fast, and eventually Inside Out had to close.
That was a hard one.
What surprised me was how much I missed it. Not just running a business, but the work itself. The process. The transformation. The feeling of helping someone fall back in love with their home.
That never really went away.
So I came back and started Pink Flamingo Painting.
Yeah, the name is a little different. That’s on purpose. I wanted something with personality. Something people remember. Something that feels a little less stiff than the usual contractor name.
But underneath the name, the values are the same: do good work, treat people right, communicate clearly, and don’t make the process harder than it needs to be.
If you’re thinking about painting, I’d love to talk and see if we’re a good fit.
