Our Story

Hi, I’m Justin Pisarra, and I run Pink Flamingo Painting.

To be honest, I never imagined I’d end up a painter. It wasn’t part of the plan—but life had other ideas. I grew up around Bethesda–Chevy Chase and went to St. John’s College High School in D.C. After college, I sort of fell into painting by accident. I started working at Prestige Painting, a well-known spot in Silver Spring that’s been around since 1985.

Turns out, I loved it. What started as just a job turned into a passion—and eventually, a career. I went from being part of the crew to owning the company, and rebranded it as Service First Painting.

Then my dad joined me, and together we launched Inside Out Painting. Over the next 15 years, it grew into a real family business, serving homeowners all across Maryland.

My (now) wife Laura brought her incredible eye for color, her creativity, and her knack for making clients feel cared for. A few of my siblings got involved too, and before long, it really was a team effort. We worked hard, treated people right, and took a lot of pride in what we built. We started in Silver Spring and eventually made our way up to Howard County.

But then the pandemic hit. Like a lot of small businesses, we did everything we could to stay afloat—but the world changed fast, and Inside Out Painting eventually had to shut down. That was tough. I missed the work more than I expected. Not just the painting itself—but the transformation, the care, the satisfaction of refreshing a space and seeing the difference it made for people.

That feeling never really left me.

So, I came back. And this time, I brought something new: Pink Flamingo Painting. It’s a little offbeat, a little fun, and definitely not your typical name—but that’s the point. I wanted something that made people smile right from the start.

But the name’s just part of it. We’re still the same kind of people—friendly, hard-working, and proud of what we do. We believe home improvement shouldn’t be stressful—it should be exciting. We want you to feel good about the whole experience, not just the end result.
